AFK Arena
AFK Arena is one of two new idle games on our list this month. This one is also has gacha and card collecting elements. You form up a team like you do in most mobile RPGs. However, the team you make does all the fighting without you and you get all of the loot from it. The game has plenty of stuff to collect and even more stuff to do. We also like that it's a step above most idle games in terms of mechanics and stuff to do.

Cartoon Network Arcade
Cartoon Network Arcade is a tie-in game for several Cartoon Network TV shows. The game has a bunch of mini-games with a bunch of characters from various shows. You unlock characters by playing the mini-games while watching the shows so it's all one big experience. Of course, if you don't watch the network, the game has less value. On the flip side, it's a free game with no in-app purchases so there are some good things and bad.

Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead
Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead is an old school survival game with turn-based mechanics. Civilization is dead and you're left to your own devices. You must find food, gear, and other tools to keep yourself alive. The UI is one of the worst in a game that we've seen. However, the game mechanics are difficult, fun, and true survival. It's definitely not a game you can master in a day. This one is also completely free with no in-app purchases or ads.

Elder Scrolls: Blades
Elder Scrolls: Blades is arguably the biggest mobile game release of April 2019. It's technically still in Early Access Beta but it's widely available to everyone. The game is a fairly standard action RPG with some decent graphics and mechanics. Players go on missions, rebuild a town, and play against other players in one on one battles. It feels like an Elder Scrolls game through and through, but it definitely isn't as complex and deep as something like Skyrim or Elder Scrolls Online.

Grand Mountain Adventure
Grand Mountain Adventure is a rare new skiing game. It features surprisingly good graphics and a relaxed game play style. You ski down a mountain while avoiding obstacles like bears and avalanches. There are also some challenges and other fun things to do. It's a non-linear game so you can ski where you want and do whatever you want to do. This is not an action game for big thrills. It still plays at a good clip, though.

Metal Slug Infinity
Metal Slug Infinity is the latest mobile version of the popular arcade shooter from the 1990's. Previous mobile games were predominately tower defense games. This one tries something new. It's an idle game with RPG and shooter elements. You send your party on quests and they shoot stuff, but you don't have to actually do anything. The game has RPG mechanics, tons of abilities and stuff to collect, and some decent strategy elements as well. The game had a release day bug that people really hated, but otherwise people seem to enjoy this one.

Monsters with Attitude
Monsters with Attitude is an IO-style game. Players drop into a game world and duke it out with one another. You are a giant in this game and you can destroy things like each other, buildings, trees, and other parts of the landscape. Each game room has up to eight players. You can also team up with friends and play ranked four versus four battles as well. It can be buggy at times and we hope the game gets more content over time. Mechanically, it's not bad.

PGA Tour Golf Shootout
PGA Tour Golf Shootout is a new arcade golf game. It reminds us a lot of those old arcade games where you spin the ball to aim and power your shot. The game features decent graphics and simple controls. You also get an online PvP mode, a single player mode, various challenges, and plenty of golf clubs to collect. It is a freemium game and it shows after the first couple of hours. Plus, some people don't like the arcade nature of it. However, it's not bad otherwise.

Shine
Shine is an adventure-exploration game with a ball of light. Players move and explore 40 levels and look for their little light buddies. The game has an intentionally relaxed pace to avoid any feeling of stress or action, but this is actually a good thing. Between the slow, relaxing game play and the relatively good soundtrack, the game definitely feels different from most others. The only complaint we saw were about the game's advertising if you play the free version. However, you can always pay for the game and remove those ads.

This War of Mine: Stories
This War of Mine: Stories is a standalone story in the same game universe as the original This War of Mine game. The game is loosely based on an audio-drama by Polish writer Łukasz Orbitowski. You play as Adam, a father trying to save his daughter from the atrocities of war. There are big decisions to be made and some of them aren't all that great. It's definitely a DLC add-on to the original game rather than its own thing.
